And what man is he that has planted a vineyard, and has not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return to his house, so that he does not die in the battle, and another man eat of it.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and my elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
Therefore their goods shall become a plunder, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine of them.
Who goes to warfare at any time at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and does not eat of the milk of the flock?
And the officers shall speak to the people, saying, What man is there that has built a new house, and has not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, so that he does not die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
And what man is there that has become engaged to a wife, and has not taken her? let him go and return to his house, so that he does not die in the battle, and another man take her.
