Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

And when you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to its own place, that it does not kill us, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon those of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and struck them with tumors, even Ashdod and the region thereof.

And it was so, that, after they had carried it around, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he struck the men of the city, both small and great, and they had tumors in their private parts.

So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the territory of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
