If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again to their lord, even to Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.

And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

And the LORD has performed his word that he spoke, and I am risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?

That your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, My name shall be there: that you may listen to the prayer which your servant shall make toward this place.

But if you say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and Jerusalem, You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?

Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his kindred the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his kindred, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

And the God that has caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

That you may buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their food offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

But if you turn to me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were some of you cast out to the farthest part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen to set my name there.

But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.

The LORD is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

An altar of earth you shall make unto me, and shall sacrifice thereon your burnt offerings, and your peace offerings, your sheep, and your oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come to you, and I will bless you.

And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment unto the children of Israel.

Thus says the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’S house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’S house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; do not keep back a word:

But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

Therefore will I do to this house, which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

And brings it not to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking to him from the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spoke to him.

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; there shall you bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow unto the LORD:

Be careful that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see:

But you must eat them before the LORD your God in the place which the LORD your God shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates: and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God in all that you put your hands unto.

You shall not do so to the LORD your God.

And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD your God has blessed you:

You shall eat it before the LORD your God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, you and your household.

And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD your God has chosen to place his name there.

Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast unto the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.

You shall therefore sacrifice for the passover unto the LORD your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there.

But at the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place his name in, there you shall sacrifice for the passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt.

And you shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God shall choose: and you shall return in the morning, and go to your tents.

If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates: then shall you arise, and go up into the place which the LORD your God shall choose;

And if a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and comes with all the desire of his mind to the place which the LORD shall choose;

That you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which you shall bring of your land that the LORD your God gives you, and shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place his name there.

When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

But you have come to mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

And the children of Israel heard it said, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over by the land of Canaan, in the borders of the Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.

And Joshua made them that day cutters of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even until this day, in the place which he would choose.

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on mount Zion, and with him a hundred forty four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
