O my God, turn your ear, and hear; open your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by your name: for we do not present our supplications before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercies.

But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; and we all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for your name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.

Why should you be like a man astonished, like a mighty man who cannot save? yet you, O LORD, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; do not leave us.

Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts.

For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should you be completely unpunished? you shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, says the LORD of hosts.

It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.

Therefore hear now, I pray you, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray you, be accepted before you; that you do not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.

Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the heathen, to which you went.

Not for your sakes do I do this, says the Lord GOD, be it known to you: be ashamed and astonished for your own ways, O house of Israel.

O Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us shame of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries to which you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
