Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he knelt upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

And hear and grant the requests of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven your dwelling place: and when you hear, forgive.

Whatever prayer and request be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

If your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever you shall send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name:

And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and request unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my mourning; and having torn my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,

And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.

​I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

But as for me, I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy: and in your fear will I worship toward your holy temple.

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Be merciful to me, O Lord: for I cry to you daily.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, does not regard you, O king, nor the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.

And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to those who love him, and to those who keep his commandments;

Then I said, I am cast out of your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.

And he said to the man who had the withered hand, Come and stand here.

If any man comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down, and prayed,

On the next day, as they went on their journey, and drew near to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

For these are not drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

And when he had thus spoken, he knelt down, and prayed with them all.

And when we had completed those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we knelt down on the shore, and prayed.

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant to your servants, that with all boldness they may speak your word,

Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We should obey God rather than men.

And he knelt down, and cried out with a loud voice, Lord, do not let this sin stand against them. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

But Peter put them all out, and knelt down, and prayed; and turning to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

And many of the brethren in the Lord, growing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing shall I be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall put some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.

I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s throne is: and you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days when Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
