Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire slew those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
And he went and found his carcass dropped in the way, and the donkey and the lion standing by the carcass: the lion had not eaten the carcass, nor torn the donkey.
To whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave to Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
And the king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they threw them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they even came to the bottom of the den.
And when Herod had sought for him, and did not find him, he examined the guards, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judea to Caesarea, and there stayed.
