Daniel 3:12

There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded you: they do not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

And Haman said to king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws are different from all people; neither do they keep the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s benefit to leave them alone.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is overflowing; but who is able to stand before envy?

Again, I considered all toil, and every right work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

To whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave to Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.

Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

And whoever does not fall down and worship, that he should be thrown into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not troubled to answer you in this matter.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak anything improper against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God who can deliver in this way.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, does not regard you, O king, nor the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.

Then the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

Whom Jason has received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

Saying, Did not we strictly command you that you should not teach in this name? And, behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
