You, O king, have made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image:

And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their kindred to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

Woe unto those who decree unrighteous decrees, and that write oppression which they have prescribed;

And whoever does not fall down and worship, that he should be thrown into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Now if you be ready that at the time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if you do not worship, you shall be thrown the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God who shall deliver you out of my hands?

Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king’s decree; Have you not signed a decree that every man who shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, except of you, O king, shall be thrown into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not change.

Who chant to the sound of the stringed instrument, and invent for themselves instruments of music, like David;

Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if anyone knew where he was, he should make it known, that they might take him.
