Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

And he said, Your name shall be called no longer Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince have you power with God and with men, and have prevailed.

But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

And forgive your people that have sinned against you, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against you, and give them compassion in the sight of those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

O Lord, I plead with you, let now your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who delight to fear your name: and prosper, I pray you, your servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.

Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness from him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were suitable to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he advanced her and her maids to the best place of the house of the women.

But he saves the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

So the poor has hope, and iniquity stops her mouth.

He made them also to be pitied by all those that took them captives.

But know that the LORD has set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

And the prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse appearing than the children who are of your group? then shall you make me endanger my head to the king.

And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
