And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

Jehoiakim was twenty five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

Nebuchadnezzar also carried some of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the lands beyond the sea.

Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient to his law.

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon;

Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus says the LORD; Do not listen to the words of your prophets that prophesy to you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD’S house shall now shortly be brought back from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie to you.

Within two full years will I bring back into this place all the vessels of the LORD’S house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:

But it came to pass, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.

Declare ye among the nations, and annuonce, and set up a standard; announce, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is astonished, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are put to shame, her images are broken in pieces.

And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up: and the nations shall not assemble any more to him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.

Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spoke and said to Daniel, Are you that Daniel, who are of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?

O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor:

Therefore they sacrifice to their net, and burn incense to their dragnet; because by them their portion is fat, and their food plentiful.

And he said to me, To build it a house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon its own base.

How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of plunderers that plundered them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan-rishathaim eight years.

And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
