You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but you do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but there is none warm; and he who earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes.
You looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew upon it. Why? says the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that is in ruins, and you run every man to his own house.
If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name, says the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.
