Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and took them captive to Assyria.

The messengers went out, being hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.

Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are at the head of the fat valleys of those who are overcome with wine!

And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.

And the LORD said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof.

Then said the LORD to me, Keep on going, love a woman beloved by her friend, though an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

And they lay themselves down upon clothes given as a pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are in the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent illnesses.
