What man is he that fears the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and teach him out of your law;

I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and again comfort him and his mourners.

For all those things has my hand made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.

He lodges with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell you what you ought to do.

Now when they heard this, they were pierced in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and kindred, what shall we do?

And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said to me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told to you all things which are appointed for you to do.

But rise, and stand upon your feet: for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of these things which you have seen, and of those things in which I will appear to you;

And he said, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute: it is hard for you to kick against the goads.

But Isaiah is very bold, and says, I was found by those who did not seek me; I was revealed to those who did not ask for me.

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

But he gives more grace. Therefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do: and you shall anoint for me him whom I name unto you.

And when Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
