Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that shuts her ear;

He who stops up his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

But they refused to listen, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, so that they would not hear.

This man was taken by the Jews, and would have been killed by them: then I came with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

And threw him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.
