And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged the one that was oppressed, and struck down the Egyptian:
And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his own people, and looked on their burdens: and he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his own people.
And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he killed the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
And when he had completed forty years of life, it came into his heart to visit his people the children of Israel.
For he supposed his people would have understood how God by his hand would deliver them: but they did not understand.
Will you kill me, as you did the Egyptian yesterday?
