Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.

And when he had gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to those who were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

And after a while came to him those who stood by, and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrays you.

And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said to his mother, Woman, behold your son!

And the Jews marveled, saying, How does this man know letters, having never learned?

But this people who know not the law are cursed.

And beholding the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant to your servants, that with all boldness they may speak your word,

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

And thus are the secrets of his heart made known; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is truly in you.

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
