The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were taken away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were taken away captive to Babylon.

Therefore I came to you without opposition, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what purpose you have sent for me?

Immediately therefore I sent to you; and you have done well that you have come. Now therefore we are all present here before God, to hear all things that are commanded you by God.

Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: for the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

And have hope toward God, which they themselves also share, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

And Paul said, I would to God, that not only you, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they had come together, he said to them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

For this reason I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, plead with you to walk worthy of the calling with which you are called,

For which I am an ambassador in chains: that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

So that my bonds in Christ are known in all the palace, and in all other places;

The salutation by the hand of me, Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

But is now revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

For which I suffer trouble, as an evildoer, even to being bound; but the word of God is not bound.

I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

Whom I would have kept with me, that in your place he might have ministered to me in the bonds of the gospel:
