But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they do not know him who sent me.

Then Paul answered, What are you trying to do, weep and break my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

I am truly a man who am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as you all are this day.

And I persecuted this way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

And I answered, Who are You, Lord? And he said to me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute.

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

And now, brethren, I know that through ignorance you did it, as did also your rulers.

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

And Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,

For I will show him how great are the things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

For I bear them record that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; with respect to the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

Who was formerly a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Then the men of the city said to Joash, Bring out your son, that he may die: because he has thrown down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the grove that was by it.
