I will speak of your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

Because I have called, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man listened;

He that answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.

He that is first in his own cause seems just; but his neighbor comes and examines him.

Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over you, and have reduced your customary food, and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your lewd way.

Does our law judge any man, before it hears him, and knows what he does?

Men, kindred, and fathers, hear my defense which I make now to you.

To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before he who is accused meets the accusers face to face, and has liberty to answer for himself concerning the crime held against him.

For it seems to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not also to indicate the crimes held against him.

I consider myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews:

But the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bring my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

But to Israel he says, All day long I have stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.
