And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and leading men of Galilee;

And on a set day Herod, clothed in royal apparel, sat on his throne, and made an oration to them.

And after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came to Caesarea to greet Festus.

And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and those who sat with them:

But the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bring my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

And those who make use of this world, as not abusing it: for the form of this world is passing away.

For the sun has no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of the appearance of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls away:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
