And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and request unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua did not read before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were living among them.
