But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and listen to my words:
O Zion, that brings good tidings, go up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that brings good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek the LORD: look to the rock from which you are hewn, and to the hole of the pit from which you are dug.
Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which does not satisfy? listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Put the trumpet to your mouth. He shall come like an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:
Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and has polluted this holy place.
And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, Be careful, and listen, O Israel; this day you have become the people of the LORD your God.
Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?
