Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.

This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a learned scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

And Moses said to the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither beforehand, nor since you have spoken unto your servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counselor, and the skilful craftsman, and the eloquent orator.

Then said he to them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a head of a household, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

And he said to them, What things? And they said to him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

But bid them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that is coming in Jerusalem: but I will return again to you, if God wills. And he sailed from Ephesus.

For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper regions came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us in it.

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Now this I say, that every one of you says, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

As for our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come to you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have a convenient time.

And these things, brethren, I have in an illustration transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that you might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

For his letters, they say, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Earnestly assist Zenas the lawyer and Apollos in their journey, that nothing may be lacking to them.
