How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

That which I do not see teach me: if I have done iniquity, I will do so no more.

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

Bring forth therefore fruits suitable for repentance:

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

And saying, Sirs, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you that you should turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in it:

The same followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, who show us the way of salvation.

Who, having received such an order, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet secure in the stocks.

Now when they heard this, they were pierced in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and kindred, what shall we do?

And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said to me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told to you all things which are appointed for you to do.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what will you have me to do? And the Lord said to him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told you what you must do.

For he shall have judgment without mercy that has shown no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.
