Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

For this reason therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

Saying, The prison truly found we closed up with all security, and the keepers standing outside before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no one inside.

For which I am an ambassador in chains: that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

I said, I would scatter them into hidden places, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

May the Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me.
