When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city; which opened to them of its own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and immediately the angel departed from him.

And he put them under guard in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.

And he put them all together under guard three days.

And he cried out, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my post whole nights:

And they put him under guard, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be unto you.

And after eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.

And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four groups of four soldiers to keep him; intending after the passover to bring him out to the people.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bonds were loosed.

But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things says he who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens, and no one shuts; and shuts, and no one opens;
