And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that for a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, in whom they believed.

And when they came, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

And there they stayed a long time with the disciples.

And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he came, helped them much who had believed through grace:

But when some were hardened, and did not believe, but spoke evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

And after the uproar had ceased, Paul called to him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed to go into Macedonia.

Also from your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

And finding disciples, we stayed there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

Then Agrippa said to Paul, You almost persuade me to be a Christian.

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte from Antioch:

And when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then was Saul some days with the disciples who were at Damascus.

And seeing that Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent to him two men, desiring of him that he would not delay to come to them.

For first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

If therefore the whole church comes together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad?

For this reason have I sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

From whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by which you are called?

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: by them he is evil spoken of, but by you he is glorified.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God because of it.

But the anointing which you have received from him dwells in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.

I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness does not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
