Now those who were scattered abroad in the persecution that arose concerning Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but to the Jews only.

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Then said the Jews among themselves, Where will he go, that we shall not find him? Will he go to the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they came to Antioch, spoke to the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

Then tidings of these things came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent out Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers, such as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

So they, being sent away by the Holy Spirit, departed to Seleucia; and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing you put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

And from there sailed to Antioch, where they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.

Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the believers:

And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy to all the believers.

So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

Paul also and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

And the contention was so sharp between them, that they separated from one another: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus;

And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and greeted the church, he went down to Antioch.

There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.

And finding a ship sailing over to Phoenicia, we went aboard, and set sail.

To you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte from Antioch:

But when Peter came to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed.
