Men and fellow believers, this scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke beforehand concerning Judas, who guided those who took Jesus.

The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and his word was in my tongue.

This was the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,

And while he yet spoke, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and sticks, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.

And immediately, while he yet spoke, came Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and sticks, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

And while he yet spoke, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.

If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

I do not speak of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his responsibility let another take.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, You men and kindred, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Be it known to you therefore, men and kindred, that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins:

And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and fellow believers, listen to me:

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said to them, Men and fellow believers, you know how a good while ago God decided among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

Him, being delivered by the determining decision and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Now when they heard this, they were pierced in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and kindred, what shall we do?

Men, kindred, and fathers, hear my defense which I make now to you.

And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: for the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they had come together, he said to them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

And when they did not agree among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken one word, Well did the Holy Spirit speak by Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,

And he said, Men, kindred, and fathers, listen; The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand of the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that would follow.

For the prophecy did not come in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
