Then said he to them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a head of a household, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

And with many such parables spoke he the word to them, as they were able to hear it.

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:

For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God.

For he who in these things serves Christ is acceptable to God, and approved by men.

Greet Apelles approved in Christ. Greet those who are of Aristobulus’ household.

Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin: but yield yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

However we speak wisdom among those who are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing:

For not he who commends himself is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.

Who also has made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Therefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted by him.

For am I now persuading men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I were yet pleasing men, I would not be the servant of Christ.

In whom you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

But as we were considered by God to be qualified to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who examines our hearts.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the discouraged, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, which you have attained.

Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of unbelief.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he has been tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Of his own will he gave us birth with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Therefore even more, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election secure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall:

Moreover I will endeavor that you may be able after my death to have these things always in remembrance.

Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found by him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
