Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes in him who sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed from death to life.

But is now revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
And for this reason he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, those who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
