We are under obligation to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith is growing exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other abounds;
Not boasting of things beyond our limit, that is, of other men’s labors; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our sphere abundantly,
Even as it is fitting for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; seeing that both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you are all sharers of my grace.
But now when Timothy came from you to us, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
Furthermore then we plead with you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more.
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit for genuine love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart earnestly:
