And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

And the king said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD has said to him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Why have you done so?

And say to Amasa, Are you not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if you be not captain of the army before me continually in the place of Joab.

And David said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should this day be adversaries to me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do I not know that I am this day king over Israel?

And the king said to his servants, Do you not know that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, that is, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the army of Judah.

Now therefore do not hold him guiltless: for you are a wise man, and know what you ought to do to him; but his gray head bring down to the grave with blood.

And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

Furthermore David the king said to all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

And there are gathered to him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their actions: give them after the work of their hands; repay them as they deserve.

Also to you, O Lord, belongs mercy: for you return to every man according to his work.

His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own crown.

All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

He that strikes a man, so that he dies, shall surely be put to death.

A king that sits in the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.

Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

Woe to the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

And say to him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted because of the two remnants of these smoking twigs from the fire, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he who can do anything against you.

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and threw him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said to Daniel, Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you.

But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

For he is the servant of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain: for he is the servant of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him who does evil.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm: the Lord reward him according to his works:

And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God return upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
