Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by En-rogel; for they could not be seen to come into the city: and a girl would go and speak to them; and they would go and speak to king David.
The king said also to Zadok the priest, Are you not a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz your son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
And have you not there with you Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that whatever thing you shall hear out of the king’s house, you shall tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.
Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok’s son, and Jonathan Abiathar’s son; and by them you shall send to me everything that you can hear.
And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said to him, Come in; for you are a valiant man, and bring good tidings.
And Adonijah killed sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brothers the king’s sons, and all the men of Judah the king’s servants:
And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and came out at En-rogel:
And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lies before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to En-rogel,
