And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.

And David said to the young man that told him, Where are you from? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.

And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called to me. And I answered, Here am I.

He said to me again, Stand, I pray you, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet wholly in me.

And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perishes for ever.

Now go and strike Amalek, and competely destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.

And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, on the way to Shur, even to the land of Egypt.

And it came to pass, when David and his men had come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and struck Ziklag, and burned it with fire;

And David said to him, To whom do you belong? and where are you from? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.

And David struck them from the twilight even until the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, except four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
