Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;
To the end that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
And may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
That the testing of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it is tried with fire, may result in praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
As also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood which those who are unlearned and unstable twist, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
