But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who secretly shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord who purchased them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood lies, saying, I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

Their heads judge for reward, and their priests teach for wages, and their prophets divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? no evil can come upon us.

Thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who make my people err, who bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he who does not put something into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who turn aside the stranger from his right, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts.

But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; to the extent that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are voracious wolves.

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

And he said, Be careful that you are not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draws near: therefore do not go after them.

Woe to you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

For such persons do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

For there must also be heresies among you, that those who are approved may be made known among you.

For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

You are bought with a price; do not be the servants of men.

And that because of false brethren brought in without our knowledge, who came in secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:

They make a great show of warmth for you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that you might be zealous for them.

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, disagreements, jealousy, anger, strife, divisions, heresies,

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

That we from this time on be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried around with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, and cleverness, by which they lie in wait to deceive;

Do you thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he your father that has bought you? has he not made you, and established you?

Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Let no one beguile you of your reward in a pretended humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Beware so that no one will spoil you through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound teaching; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Whose mouths must be stopped, who corrupt whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for unjust gain’s sake.

A man that creates needless strife, after the first and second admonition reject;

Of how much severer punishment, do you suppose, shall he be thought worthy who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has considered the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has despised the Spirit of grace?

Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you do not see him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

And through covetousness shall they with deceitful words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now for a long time has not delayed, and their damnation does not slumber.

These things have I written to you concerning those who seduce you.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

How they told you that there would be mockers in the last time, who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.

For certain men have crept in secretly who long ago were appointed to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

And deceives those who dwell on the earth by means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s throne is: and you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days when Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it: for you have a little strength, and have kept my word, and have not denied my name.

And they sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, will you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?
