And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, Strike this people, I pray you, with blindness. And he struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

And they struck the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. But he led them to Samaria.

They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

In that day, says the LORD, I will strike every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open my eyes upon the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the people with blindness.

He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; so that they would not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I would heal them.

And Jesus said, For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see might see; and that those who see might be made blind.

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks; but the chosen have obtained it, and the rest were blinded
