So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O you man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O you man of God? are you come to me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

Again also he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty men. And he answered and said to him, O man of God, thus has the king said, Come down quickly.

And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, and said to him, O man of God, I pray you, let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.

Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him, You man of God, the king has said, Come down.

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they did not know what they were.

And she said to her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, which passes by us continually.

Now therefore forgive, I pray you, my sin only this once, and appeal to the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

And this is the blessing, with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
