And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said to his servant, Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.

Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said to him, Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from being your teacher today? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold your peace.

Now there cried out a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take to himself my two sons to be slaves.

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they did not know what they were.

Then spoke Elisha to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go, you and your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn: for the LORD has called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.

Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their food.

Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.

Son of man, when the land sins against me by trespassing greatly, then will I stretch out my hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

And speak a parable to the rebellious house, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Set down a pot, set it on the fire, and also pour water into it:

And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was a herdsman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit:

He answered and said to them, You give them something to eat. And they said to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred silver coins worth of bread, and give it to them to eat?

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Now the man out of whom the devils had departed pleaded with him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

But he said to them, You give them something to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fish; unless we should go and buy food for all these people.

Then Jesus said to them, Children, have you any food? They answered him, No.

As soon then as they came to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went around doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

And some days afterwards Paul said to Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our fellow believers in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.

I am truly a man who am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as you all are this day.

And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
