And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.

For, said Hushai, you know your father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be stirred up in their minds, as a bear robbed of her cubs in the field: and your father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

And when he was gone, a lion met him on the way, and slew him: and his carcass was dropped in the way, and the donkey stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass.

And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

Then said he to him, Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as you are departed from me, a lion shall slay you. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.

And he went from there to mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of those who hate me;

Let a bear robbed of her cubs meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.

Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

As a roaring lion, and a wandering bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will remove you off of the face of the earth: this year you shall die, because you have taught rebellion against the LORD.

Give them sorrow of heart, your curse on them.

I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her cubs, and will tear the covering of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.

I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate.

Therefore thus says the LORD; Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you shall die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity out of his land.

And Jesus answered and said to it, May no one eat fruit from you from now on for ever. And his disciples heard it.

And Peter calling to remembrance said to him, Master, look, the fig tree which you cursed is withered away.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the spirit: and great fear came on all those who heard these things.

But Peter said to him, Your money perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

And having readiness to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.

And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God return upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
