Do not listen to Hezekiah: for thus says the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then you may eat every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink every one the waters of his cistern:

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.

He who keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit of it: so he that waits on his master shall be honored.

And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and disappointed, and covered their heads.

In that day, says the LORD of hosts, shall you invite every man his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree.
