And surely your blood of your lives will I require; from the hand of every beast will I require it, and from the hand of man; from the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.
The king said moreover to Shimei, You know all the wickedness which your heart is aware of, that you did to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return your wickedness upon your own head;
And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and killed seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him in Jezreel.
But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal family, came, and ten men with him, and struck down Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
Twenty two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they use for Baalim.
Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the royal family, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah.
And when they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and remain there until I bring you word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
Then Herod, when he saw that he was despised by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the region thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
And he went to his father’s house at Ophrah, and slew his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, being seventy persons, upon one stone: nevertheless Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was still left; for he hid himself.
