Having many things to write to you, I would rather not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come to you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even visibly, and not in dark speeches; and the likeness of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

These things have I spoken to you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

Until now you have asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

And now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Whenever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way there by you, if first I am somewhat filled with your company.

Greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy;

But besides this prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given to you.

But I plead with you even more to do this, so that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Know that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.

And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.

Therefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, babbling against us with malicious words: and not content with this, neither does he himself receive the brethren, and forbids those who would, and casts them out of the church.
