I desired Titus to go, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus get a gain from you? Did we not walk in the same spirit? Did we not walk in the same steps?
And not only that, but who was also chosen by the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and as a declaration of your ready mind:
If anyone inquires about Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you: or if our brethren are inquired about, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.
Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they should go on ahead to you, and prepare beforehand your generosity, of which you had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of generosity, and not as of compulsion.
But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a fragrance of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.
