After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward.

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept your word.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn your statutes.

For his anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you; which you have accomplished for those who trust in you before the sons of men!

You shall guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Come, my people, enter into your chambers, and shut your doors behind you: hide yourself as if for a little moment, until the indignation be past.

In a little wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on you, says the LORD your Redeemer.

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, except you, what he has prepared for him that waits for him.

And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive offspring.

Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the same way their fathers treated the prophets.

Except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.

To those who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love him.

But we all, with unveiled faces beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

For I know that this shall turn out for my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure:

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble you;

Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he has been tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch even to prayer.

But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Now to him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
