I have become a fool in glorying; you have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended by you: for in nothing am I behind the very chief apostles, though I am nothing.
So likewise you, when you shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
And if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is at work in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
For even if I desired to glory, I would not be a fool; for I would say the truth: but now I refrain, so that no one will think of me above that which he sees me to be, or that he hears of me.
