But though I am unskilled in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been thoroughly made known among you in all things.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
For his letters, they say, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.
Truly the signs of an apostle were done among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made known to God; and I trust also are made known in your consciences.
By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by genuine love,
Receive us; we have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one.
By which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
