But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their territory.

Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour?

If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what benefit is it to me, if the dead do not rise? Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.

In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king guarded the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me:

And that because of false brethren brought in without our knowledge, who came in secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
