For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honorable, but we are despised.

Now you are full, now you are rich, you have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God you did reign, that we also might reign with you.

For you permit fools gladly, seeing that you yourselves are wise.

I speak concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. However wherever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well put up with it.

I have become a fool in glorying; you have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended by you: for in nothing am I behind the very chief apostles, though I am nothing.

For if we are out of our minds, it is for God: or if we are sober, it is for your sakes.

Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on those who have gone astray; because he himself also is subject to weakness.

And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, why have you at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan!
